Top 10 Best Flat Top Grills [2021 Reviews]

Flat top grills have enriched the culinary arts since forever. Since ancient times when these flat cooking platforms were crafted of clay, versatile cooking techniques such as sauteing, simmering, shallow frying, and grilling evolved hand in hand with them.

Times have changed, so have our grills!

Look at these kitchen appliances now! With cutting edge technology and massive heating power, flat-top grills are available at so many different shapes, sizes, and price tags.

Here, in one of the most detailed flat top grill reviews, our job is to list the best flat top grill among the finest of the lot, so that you don’t need to drain your time and energy web-storming.

Choose to your heart’s content and simply start cooking. It’s as simple as that.

What is a Best Flat Top Grill?

Flat top grills are neither the conventional grill nor are they griddles. They lie somewhere in between.

A grill is a cooking stove that consists of a metal plate with ridges of metal bars on it. Flat top grills don’t come with metal ridges. Instead, they come with a flat metal plate that acts as a cooking surface.

They resemble griddles. However, the major difference between a basic griddle and a flat top grill lies in the heating system.

Griddles use different fuels to heat up the metal plates. In a flat top grill, however, the heating element is more sophisticated, so that heat spreads radially over the flat surface.

This ensures even distribution of heat over the cooking surface so that you can create some delicious, properly cooked magic meals.

The best flat top grill, therefore, is one that never compromises with the heating system.

Features like the size, number of burners, and type ( cart or tabletop ) may vary according to our preferences.

On the other hand, efficient temperature control, durable construction, portability, intelligent design with an absence of design flaws are some core deciding features of the best flat top grills.

Camp Chef Flat Top Grill reviews on Amazon are awesome. One user states, “The One Flat Top To Rule Them All…” And we pretty much agree.

This outdoor kitchen flat top grill is a grill and a griddle.

You get to taste the best of both worlds, just not at the same time. The cooking surfaces are interchangeable. The grilling area measures 501 square inches while the flat top griddle measures a whopping 604 square inches.

There are four separately controllable stainless steel burners, and they produce 48,000 BTUs together.

The shelves for prep work are large. This does not make the unit disproportionate though. As they are foldable, the unit remains compact.

The body is corrosion resistant. There are two caster wheels. And the other heavy-duty legs come with adjustable leg levelers that allow this unit great stability no matter where it stands. So, one fine morning, if you decide to take your cooking to the cliff of a mountain, your Camp Chef flat top grill will manage fine.

The only downside that we felt is that this unit is pretty heavy. Also, the griddle sides tend to heat up sometimes.

Verdict on Camp Chef Flat Top Grill:

Camp Chef flat top grill brings you the best of both worlds. Interestingly, this unit is also one of the best for both the worlds- home and restaurant, equally.

This giant powerhouse is a bit on the heavier side of the weight scale, but the intelligent design makes it easy accommodatable.

The GB8000 is our favorite restaurant flat top grill. It is a behemoth of a cooking machine.

What to Look for in the Best Flat Top Grill

While making the final decision of which flat top grill to bring home, sort your priorities. Ask yourself how your ideal cooking companion should look like and what features it should possess. Here is the checklist that we recommend.

Size and Power:

Small or compact units are usually more kind to your pocket. They consume less space and saves you from the hassle of storage.

A small unit does not necessarily cook an insufficient amount of food. A compact flat top cooking system such as the CUISINART CGG-888 with 30,000 BTUs of power is often good enough for an entire family or a small gathering. Smaller units such as the Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle are good for two.

However, if you mean to use the unit for your business or simply for entertaining generous parties, go for a larger and more powerful flat top grill for sale like the Blackstone 1554 Station – Professional 36 inch Outdoor Flat Top Gas Grill Griddle.

The Fuel Type:

In order to ensure maximum portability and effortless use outdoors, most flat top grill carts are propane powered. If this is precisely what you want from your ideal flat top grill, choose units that run on gas.

Most models on our listicle are propane-powered such as the Camp Chef Flat Top Grill.  Although, you should bear in mind that you have to buy the propane separately.

Electric flat top grills, on the other hand, are useless in places that do not have a power outlet. If your grilling is intended for indoors or simply your patio then this type of grill is great for you.

These are small and lightweight, so you can take it anywhere as long as there is a power outlet. Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle is a great choice.

Number of Burners:

Flat top grills that have two burners are generally medium to small. While two burners are sufficient to generate enough heat to cook anything, the issue lies in the fact that they do not offer separate cooking zones.

Cuisinart CGG-888 is a pleasant exception. This one has only two burners but offers two separate heating zones anyway.

Units that have four burners in place provide separate cooking zones and lets you cook different things at a time. Blackstone 1554 Station – Professional 36 inch Outdoor Flat Top Gas Grill Griddle is one such versatile stove.

The Thickness of the Cooking Plate:

The cooking plate of the best flat top grill should be thick enough. This ensures even distribution of heat throughout the cooking area. Hence, your pancakes are uniformly baked and beef properly seared.

The material may be cast iron or stainless steel, or anything else for that matter. Make sure that it is thick enough. All the great cooking machines that made our top list fulfill this requirement.

Ease of Cleaning:

Flat top grills are always easier to clean than regular grills with bars. Even then, trouble-free cleaning varies from one stove to the other.

The most important thing you need to look for is an efficient grease management system.

If the grease generated from cooking is channeled and funneled efficiently, cleaning the unit after use becomes a piece of cake.

Blackstone Tabletop Grill – 22 Inch Portable Gas Griddle and Cuisinart CGG-306 Chef’s Style Stainless Tabletop Grill are a couple of flat tops with a neat grease drainage system.

Even then, no matter how easy maintenance your flat-top is, it isn’t going to clean itself. Using a superb grill scraper always helps. We use Easy Function Grill Scraper. It’s super convenient and we like the fact that it is wooden.

Common Queries about Flat Top Grills and Their Solution

01. What can I cook on a flat top grill?

Anything and everything.
From baking pancakes to sauteeing veggies and searing BBQs, you can do anything with a flat top grill. This variety of grilling machines is more versatile than its counterpart- conventional grills ( with bars ).

02. Is cooking with flat top grills healthy?

Yes indeed.

Flat top grills cook your food keeping the moisture content of the food intact. This allows you to cook with minimum cooking oil.  This way, the cooked meals are not only juicier and tastier, but healthier as well.

03. Which is better, stainless steel or cast iron grill?

Both cast iron flat top grills and stainless steel grills have their own sets of pros and cons.

Cast iron retains heat for a longer period of time. However, it is prone to corrosion.
Units that come with cast iron cooking surfaces are usually protected with a coating. Even then corrosion can take place over time. These also require more effort in maintenance.

Stainless steel tops don’t get as hot as cast iron. The upside is, units made of stainless steel cooking plates are more durable and easier to clean and maintain. They darken over time, but this does not hamper the taste of food.

04. Which oil is best for flat top grills?

The best cooking oil for use over flat top grills Avocado oil.

Avocado oil is popular for its high smoke point. This means that it is great for high heat cooking. Just make sure that the brand that you choose provides high-grade avocado oil and not an unbalanced vegetable oil blend.

The non-GMO Chosen Foods 100% Pure Avocado Oil is a great brand for your flat top.
Extra virgin olive oil and canola oil are also fitting options.

Olive oil adds a unique flavor to your cooking while canola oil is neutral and won’t meddle with your recipe. Pompeian Robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a fine option if you go for the former while Spectrum Naturals Canola Oil is a superior brand if you choose the latter.

05. Can I use pots and pans on a flat top grill?

That depends.

Try not to. Even if you do, be cautious. Pans tend to leave scratches on your cooking surface and do some damage to the unit permanently.

The Last Sizzle

Like we mentioned in the beginning, the days of flat cooking platforms crafted with clay are over. There are innumerable options in numerous forms out there to choose from.

A wrong move could cause a lot of frustration and name-calling and may make you end up wondering if it would have been better if you made something with clay instead.

The trick here is to choose wisely. And we have poured out all our wisdom into this article, one of the best flat top grill reviews on the internet today.

Hope this has landed you with your ideal flat top grill and you keep sizzling with it for a long long long time.

Top 10 Best Tabletop Grills And A Guide to Peaceful Grilling

Awise chef, Anthony Bourdain once said, “Barbeque may not be the road to world peace, but it’s a start.”

Wonder whether it’s only the joy of barbecues that made him feel so content. All we know is, without a great grill to work with, peace isn’t an option.

The need for a top-notch grill becomes more palpable when you hit the roads for hiking or tailgating or find yourself camping in the middle of nowhere. Carrying a mediocre machine during travel isn’t the wisest thing to do, is it?

So, we figured we would scout out to find the top 10 best tabletop grills for you so that you feel the peace Bourdain was talking about.

So here goes the best of the best tabletop grill reviews.

Back to the Basics: What is the Best Tabletop Grill?

A tabletop grill is something that sits on a table (duh!).

This variety of grilling machines is usually more compact and portable compared to conventional grills so that you can use them on the go. This doesn’t necessarily mean that their use is limited to wanderers only.

A tabletop grill is perfect for anyone with a limited outdoor cooking space.

Unlike a full-grown grill, these take up the minimum space, store easily and clean easily. In other words, your tabletop will give you all the pleasures of grilling without overwhelming you with the inconvenience of a large, bulky unit.

Even though propane powered tabletop grills are more popular, there are other variants such as electric and charcoal grills in the market. They come in various sizes, shapes, and burner capacities.

However, any tabletop isn’t the best tabletop.

The best outdoor tabletop grill must be a convenient cooking appliance and offer innovative features such as foldable design, more than one cooking zone, temperature control, and much more.

Also, the price shouldn’t be sky-high.

The Mighty Griller and The Pick of the Day

FEATURES

  • Power Source: Propane
  • Dimensions:  22 x 18 x 15 inches
  • Cooking Area: 266 square inches
  • Materials: Stainless steel
  • Weight: 26 pounds

This stainless steel tabletop gill by Giantex is a mighty deal. It does everything a full-sized grill does while offering the convenience expected from a tabletop.

This Giantex is literally a giant. The two burners generate a total heat of 20,000 BTUs, which is pretty huge to heat up a tabletop.

Furthermore, these are independent of each other, allowing you to create two separate heat zones for hybrid cooking.

The primary grilling surface is 266 square inches, which means that you can easily cater to a group of 8 or so.

This ergonomic unit comes with features like built-in ignition and lid-mounted thermometer.

Also with this mighty griller, Giantex offers safety assurance. It meets the CSA safety standards so that you won’t need to worry about such a powerful griller at work on your table.

For a machine of this caliber, the built is surprisingly lightweight. In addition to this, foldable legs and locking latches make it amazingly compact. This makes it one of the most portable gas grills for camping.

This stainless tabletop grill is made of 430 stainless steel instead of the 304 variety which is more common. This has its advantages. This material is softer and shows greater resistance to corrosion. Also, the chromium content in this combo is higher, making it gleam more.

The steel construct and the presence of a removable drip tray together make cleaning this unit an effortless business. Assembling this appliance is equally uncomplicated and can be done with a couple of basic house tools.

Verdict on Giantex Propane Tabletop Gas Grill Stainless Steel:

Giantex Propane Tabletop Gas Grill Stainless Steel is our overall best.

Here’s why we chose it to be our most favorite appliance

  • More powerful than most tabletop grills
  • More versatile than most of its contenders with two separate heat zones
  • Has a large cooking area despite being a very compact unit
  • Boasts a great look and an ergonomic design
  • Is extremely portable
  • Looks great and is easy to set up and maintain

Pros:

  • Two independently controlled burners provide two heat zones for combination cooking
  • Generates a total of 20,000 BTU, which is as close as it can get to a full-sized grill
  • Electronic ignition
  • Generous grilling space caters to around 8 people at a time
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Convenient cleaning
  • Meets CSA safety standards

Cons:

  • Designed for a larger LP tank. But you can get it connected to a 1-pound canister using an inexpensive adapter.

Top Pick for Small Families

FEATURES

  • Power Source: Propane
  • Dimensions: 12.20 x 18.00 x 12.00 inches
  • Cooking Area: 145 square inches
  • Material: Steel
  • Weight: 2.2 pounds

The CUISINART CGG-180T is an extremely lightweight and compact unit that you can take anywhere. The briefcase-style handle further eases the job.

The foldable legs unfold outwards as you set it up to get the party started and folds back in when you pack up. These are sturdy quadruplets that can stand anywhere, providing maximum stability to this grill.

The body of this Cuisinart tabletop grill is made of steel while the grilling grate is cast iron.

Cast iron has a good reputation in the grilling industry, as it retains heat pretty efficiently. Moreover, these grates are porcelain enamel coated. The durability of the steel box and lid is enhanced by a dual coat of paint.

This small tabletop grill is propane powered with an additional built-in ignition. This is a feature we seldom expect in a compact system such as this one.

The primary grilling area measures 145 square inches so you can expect to grill 8 burgers or 6-10 chicken breasts at a time. It goes without saying that this is a grill for a group of few, not many.

There is a drip tray to collect run-off. So, this makes cleaning the unit much easier.

Simply scrub it with an abrasive pad or use a wire brush for the grates. The rest of the body can be well taken care of by a dishcloth soaked in soap water.

Verdict on CUISINART CGG-180T:

Light as a feather, compact and functional, the Cuisinart CGG-180T is our top pick for small families who love to grill.

Pros:

  • Highly portable
  • Foldable design
  • Lockable lid
  • 5,500 BTU power is great enough for the grilling area
  • An extremely lightweight structure and an ergonomic handle makes it easy to carry
  • Compact, so easily fits into any car

Cons:

  • Limited cooking area
  • Some reported issues of lid lock malfunction

Sturdy and Purposeful

FEATURES

  • Power Source: Charcoal
  • Dimensions: 18.5″ x 17″ x 16″
  • Cooking Area: 250 square inches
  • Material: Heavy-duty Steel
  • Weight: 40 lbs

For all you grillers with a charcoal affinity, the Char-Griller E22424 is good news. Get ready for some Texas-style grilling with this one. It is bound to be the center of envy in your tailgate parties.

With a heavy-duty steel construction and a demeanor that resembles barrel grills set horizontally, this unit looks and feels macho. The grilling performance matches the overall look of this product.

The cast-iron grates make up 250 square inches of grilling surface. That’s sufficient to feed a large family or a medium group.

The unit stands on strong steel legs. There are sliding drawers that give you access to the coal and removable ash pan to get rid of the by-product without any effort. A wooden handle on the lid ensures no-burn hazard-free grilling.

Everything about this charcoal grill is purposeful. There are dampers to control airflow and internal temperature, maximizing cooking performance.

You can also use this as a firebox. It fits with the Char-Griller barrel grills with ease. However, there is a catch. Once you turn it into a firebox, there is no going back to being a grill. This is because converting it requires drilling some holes.

Verdict on Char-Griller E22424 Table Top Charcoal Grill:

Everything about the charcoal grill E22424 by Char-Griller is great, but it is a bit heavy. This may limit its portability. While tailgating with this grill sounds great, taking it along for hiking doesn’t seem like the best idea.

We suggest this unit as an adornment for households with limited outdoor cooking space. It is a great alternative to a full-sized grill if saving space is a priority issue.

Pros:

  • Generous primary grilling surface
  • Sturdy construction
  • Durable
  • Easy assembly
  • Removable ash pan makes it easier to clean
  • Sliding drawers provide access to the coal

Cons:

  • Prone to rusting and peeling
  • On the heavier side

The Most Convenient Tabletop Grill

FEATURES

  • Power Source: Propane
  • Dimensions:  32W x 19D x 33.5H
  • Cooking Area: 205 square inches
  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Weight: 20.9 pounds

The Smoke Hollow by Masterbuilt is a mood lifter. It is a typical tabletop with a limited grilling capacity, but it does its job really well.

What we love about this grill is, it gives you convenience in every way possible.

It is a compact briefcase-style appliance with the lid strongly latched. The large and ergonomic handle makes transporting it absolutely trouble-free.

The single burner is U-shaped and generates 10,000 BTU worth of heat over a 205 square inch of primary grilling surface.

That’s not it though. The manufacturers thoughtfully added a warming tray where you can cook your veggies at a lower temperature while the grill grates do the heavy-duty grilling.

Nevertheless, keep in mind that this is a single burner unit and you cannot create separate grilling zones.

The wide-set legs of this grill bring the center of gravity to a more favorable point, making it more stable.

There is a lid thermometer and that gives you control over the cooking temperature. A removable drip tray collects run-off and prevents a mess.

Verdict on Smoke Hollow Masterbuilt SH19030819 Propane Tabletop Grill:

The smoke hollow tabletop grill is indeed masterfully built by Masterbuilt. This is our Convenience King among the lot. It is best for all sorts of outdoor grilling.

Pros:

  • Durable, rust-resistant built
  • Good sized primary cooking area with an additional secondary warming surface
  • Thoughtfully designed with locking lid, foldable legs, and an ergonomic front handle
  • The overall unit is sturdy and stable

Cons:

  • Single burner, limited capacity unit

The Most Versatile Single Burner Unit

FEATURES

  • Power Source: Propane
  • Dimensions:  25.1 x 51.4 x 26 inches
  • Cooking Area: 280 square inches
  • Materials: Cast aluminum lid and body, Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates
  • Weight:  42.5 pounds

The Weber Q2200, despite being a single burner unit, is quite versatile. It is the keystone of the celebrated Q-series by Weber.

And why not?

It is large enough to cater to half a dozen people simultaneously. Yet it remains a compact tabletop. Its foldable feature makes it easily fit inside your storage area or slide into your car. It suits a small patio as well.

The primary cooking area amounts to 280 square inches. Moreover, the hood is roomy enough to let you grill larger things. A whole chicken, for instance.

The porcelain-coated cast-iron grill grates are ‘put into flames’ by a single burner unit capable of generating 12,000 BTUs. The cast aluminum shell prevents heat from escaping out into the environment, thereby, maximizing the grilling proficiency.

In order to give you more control, this unit serves with a lid-mounted thermometer. This feature is present in several devices on our top list, but just so you know, it’s usually rare in tabletop grills.

Surprises don’t end here. A fitted glass-reinforced table flank this Weber grill on each side, giving you two side tables to keep grilling necessities.

You can conveniently use it as a flat top grill whenever you feel like it. Just add an optional griddle that’s up for sale.

The only aspect it didn’t completely impress us is portability. Standing at a little over 42 pounds, and with a 2-hands carry shape, it is a bit hard to carry around. It does fit into the trunk of any car comfortably though.

Verdict on Weber 54060001 Q2200 Liquid Propane Grill:

This USA made propane powered tabletop comes with a lot to offer. It is great for backyard reunions and patio celebrations.

Camping with it is pretty great too as long as a few extra pounds isn’t a problem for you.

For us, this is the most versatile single burner unit.

Pros:

  • Most popular of the Q-line by Weber
  • Large yet foldable
  • Spacious hood
  • Push-button ignition
  • Hood mounted thermometer
  • Comes in multiple colors

Cons:

  • The weight and a 2-hand carry design may limit portability

The Most Acrobatic

FEATURES

  • Power Source: Charcoal
  • Dimensions:  15.9 x 11 x 8.8 inches
  • Cooking Area: 585 square inches
  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Weight:  3.83 pounds

The ISUMER Charcoal Grill doesn’t fit the typical description of a tabletop grill. It is larger than its own kind but smaller than the conventional ones.

However, the feature that most intrigues us is its foldability. The entire framework is collapsible when you pack it, making it a convenient portable tabletop grill.

Your friends are gonna watch with awe as you unfold it into a pretty large and neat unit.

The greatest advantage of this acrobatic charcoal BBQ grill is its cooking area. It measures 585 square inches, which is by far, the greatest we have reviewed until now. With this stainless steel charcoal grill, you are in for a full-blown grilling experience.

You get air vents on each side of the grill ensuring a uniform circulation of air inside the charcoal-burner.

This also makes sure that the charcoal burns to its fullest, giving your BBQs the smoky undertone, one of the prime reasons you probably want to go for a charcoal powered unit.

The grill pan is made of refined iron which is a great retainer of heat. There is an ash catcher. So it is easy to clean.

This unit is lightweight, but it does emit a vibe that it is flimsy or not strong enough to last. It is quite affordable.

Verdict on ISUMER Charcoal Grill Barbecue Portable BBQ:

The ISUMER Charcoal Grill is best for beach parties. You can take off with it, or simply station it in your backyard, it is not going to disappoint.

Pros:

  • The entire framework is collapsible
  • Larger than a typical tabletop grill and provides a full-sized grilling surface
  • Lightweight
  • Adjustable height
  • Equipped with a two-side ventilation system
  • Great price point

Cons:

  • Doesn’t seem that strong

Buying Guides: What to Look for in the Best Tabletop Grill

“Your grills, your rules,” said someone wise.

Keep this in mind when you pick up your grill.

The best machine for you is not necessarily the most popular one. Something that is tailored to meet your specific needs should be the ideal one to go for.

Here is a handy guide to help you define what you want for a tabletop grill.

Gas or Charcoal?

Tabletop grills are mostly either gas-powered or charcoal heated.

A charcoal grill will take more time to heat up and reach cooking temperatures. Charcoal grills are also messier.

Even so, if you are a devotee to the robust smoky flavor of charcoal, a gas grill will never satisfy your cravings. So better not go for a propane-fueled unit.  A charcoal grill is generally more affordable as well.

The cleaning issue can be solved by bringing a unit that comes with an ash collector such as the Char-Griller E22424 Table Top Charcoal Grill.

On the other hand, if you just want to taste the meat and not coal fumes, a propane grill is a neat choice. It doesn’t interfere with the taste or flavor profile of your recipes. Cuisinart CGG-306 Chef’s Style Propane Tabletop Grill is a great unit you can check out.

A gas grill heats up fast. It is less messy but generally costs more than charcoal girls.

One problem with gas grills is that you will have to constantly lookout for the status of your fuel tank. Propane run-out is a common reason for failed campsite parties.

How Much of Square Inches?

In order to determine how large your primary grilling area should be, think of how many people you would usually like to cater to.

While a small and insufficient grilling surface is not what you must be looking for, purchasing a large and power-hungry grill to cook dinner for a duo is not an efficient idea either.

Calculate and map how much you need. An average burger occupies about 20 square inches of grill space. This knowledge comes in handy when you check out the dimensions of your desired unit.

Coleman NXT Lite Tabletop Propane Grill is a great pick if you are looking for a small grill.

Conversely, ISUMER Charcoal Grill Barbecue Portable BBQ is great for gatherings.

Heat Zones: More than One?

Although asking for more than one heat zones is asking too much from a tabletop, some manufacturers actually provide it, and thereby feed our greed for more versatility in even the most compact systems.

Our top pick Giantex Propane Tabletop Gas Grill has independent burners with which you can create separate heat zones for combination cooking.

A secondary warming area is also a welcome feature. The Smoke Hollow Masterbuilt has one.

You can warm veggies while the meat sears.

Bulky or Lightweight?

The grilling surface area isn’t the only thing that matters. The overall bulk of the unit matters too, especially since we are talking about portable table tops here.

A large machine takes up more space. With something like this, easy storage and easy transport seem less likely.

If you want to keep your tabletop grill stationed in your backyard, then a large and heavy grill is great.

On the other hand, if hitting the roads often is what you have in mind, go for a lightweight and compact system like the Weber Go-Anywhere Charcoal Grill.

Skipping The Must-Have Features?

When it comes to Tabletops, these features are a must-have:

  • Foldable legs for portability and storage
  • Locking lids and carrying handles to further increase portability

Ask Away! : FAQs on Tabletop Grills and Grilling

Here are the answers to questions we get asked the most about Tabletop grills.

01. What do you put a tabletop grill on?

Tabletop grills are designed in such a way that the grilling surface lies high above the table. Therefore, putting them on surfaces such as wood and aluminum is fine.

However, we suggest not to place them on a plastic table as it may melt.

02. Is a charcoal grill safe on my patio?

Charcoal grills should not be meant for small apartment balconies as a fly-away spark can start a fire.

However, a tabletop charcoal grill is safe enough for your patio once you abide by the rules of safe grilling.

You can use a grill mat on a wooden deck. This not only protects you from rogue sparks but also protects your deck from grease stain.

Another effective way to minimize fire risk is to close all the vents after you are done grilling.

03. What does BTU in a gas grill mean?

BTU is the short form of the British Thermal Unit. The higher the BTU of your grill, the more powerful it is, meaning your grill will heat up more and faster. However, this also means that it will consume more fuel.

04. Should I clean the grill after every use?

Yes, you should.
After every use, a light clean up is due. The best time to brush it up is when the grill is still warm ( not hot ).

Simply remove food residues stuck on the grill with a wire brush. Empty the drip tray/ ash pan. And you should be covered.

05. Can I cook with a Cuisinart CGG-180T with the lid down?

Yes, you can.

While some tabletop grills do not offer this convenience, CGG-180T by Cuisinart does.

It’s the grill!

The first step towards delicious grilled patties, chicken, sausages, etc. is the grill itself. Once you get yourself a grill that fits your needs, there is no holding you back from releasing the inner chef!

One such grill that had us awed at its performance is the Weber Spirit II E-210 2-burner. It doesn’t take up much and has many user-friendly features that are supreme for anyone looking for a small yet efficient grill.

Intrigued to know all about?

Our Weber Spirit II E-210 review talks about its best features and also compares it to one of the other hyper Weber grills in the market.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

Weber E-210 vs E-310

Weber E210 and E310 Propane Grills have been compared on more occasions than one. Given their amazing capabilities, they are almost similar to each other with little differences here and there. Here we compare these two, for your ease!

Right off the bat, the most noticeable difference between these two spectacular grills is the number of burners. Weber E210 has 2 burners while the E310 has 3 burners, as their name suggests. This also gives in to the slight difference in dimensions between the two.

Because of the three burners, the Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill has the advantage of a larger grilling area. If you are someone who is looking for a grill that is ideal for large parties, this is the one! On the other hand, if small to medium-sized cooks are more of your thing, then the E210 is perfect.

Relating to the burners, comes the cooking power of the grills. Equipped with three burners, the Weber Spirit II E-310 black 3-burner liquid propane gas grill, comes with a total of 32000 BTUs, giving it more power than the other one. Although, a total of 26000 BTUs is not all that bad for a 2-burner grill!

Apart from these basic differences in size, there are no other significant distinctions between the two spectacular grills. They both have the amazing benefit of heat-trapping with the porcelain-coated grates, the convenient side tables, and the storage facilities beside the gas tank. Lastly, they are both made of the finest materials, making them durable!

Therefore, if you are up for large parties quite often, then we would suggest spending a little more and buying the Weber E310 Propane Gas Grill for an enjoyable grilling experience! However, if space is an issue, then the E210 by Weber does not lag behind in any aspect and fits perfectly in a small area!

Weber Spirit II E-210 Gas Grill: Best Features

Let’s talk about what you can gain from this amazing grill!

Ample Grilling Space:

Featuring a 450 square inches cooking area, this small grill is in no way to be underestimated. Looking at its dimensions, you might think it is not suitable for a large party, but it is more than right for your big group of friends and family!

You can fit in about 12 large burgers on the grill or 24 chicken leg pieces, to get them grilled up! And that is only the primary space we’re talking about. There is also the secondary cooking rack to hold up your small chunks of fruits, vegetables, and skewers!

Ease of Use:

Gas grills have always been a favorite for people who love convenient grilling. With the Weber Spirit II E210 2-Burner, that convenience is taken up a level!

For starters, the electronic ignition system lets you light up the grill without any extra hassle. Additionally, you do not need to turn it on for each burner. Once it is on, all you have to do is turn the dial for the next burner and it will gear up!

To guide you with the temperature inside, the built-in thermometer sits right on top of the lid. You do not have to keep guessing the amount of heat inside! For more accurate results, we’d suggest getting a probe for the food.

What impressed us the most was the fuel gauge on this grill. This allows you to see how much LP gas is left inside the grill, allowing you to plan ahead on fuel usage. Moreover, they’re marked with yellow fuel tanks and can be read by a 10-year old!

Temperature Controls:

The best part about gas grills is the control you get over the temperature inside and this Weber grill got that for you. There are two separate knobs for each burner, allowing you to control them separately. Being made with the users in mind, they are situated right on the front for easy access!

Storage Area:

When you first open the black steel door in the front, you will be wondering where this storage space that we are talking about in our Weber E-210 Review is.

However, once you look deeper, you will notice the extra space beside the fuel tank. Utilize that area for storing your grilling tools while using the grill. The LP gas tank will not interfere with any of that!

Alongside that, there are two side tables on each side of the grill, making it easy to place your plates there. To top it all, there are six hooks that let you hang your spatula and any other tools for easy access.

Built to Last:

Known for building long-lasting grills, Weber did not slack off for this 2-Burner Propane Grill as well. Manufactured with the finest stainless steel material, the grill can cope with some long grilling and cleaning jobs throughout the years.

In addition to that, the firebox is made from cast-aluminum that is known to be rust-proof and more durable than porcelain boxes. Known to retain heat for a longer time, it makes the food more delicious!

Pros:

  • Accommodates a lot of food all at once.
  • Heat spreads evenly throughout the grates.
  • Electric igniter makes gearing up the grill very easy.
  • Easy-to-control adjustable temperature settings.
  • Built-in thermometer for temperature reading.
  • Fuel gauge for reading the fuel inside the tank.
  • Storage space below the grill.
  • Compact size and foldable side tables make it easy to store.
  • Durable.

Cons:

  • No cool-off handles: Made with both plastic and stainless steel, you have to be careful while opening the lid once the grilling is done. The sides of the handle are made of stainless steel, making them prone to heating up to a great extent. If you try opening the lid using the sides, you are most likely to burn your hands.

On the contrary, the middle of the handle is made up of plastic, which makes them less vulnerable to heat. They do turn hot but not as much as to burn your fingers.

Hence, our Weber Genesis II E-210 review suggests to open the grill lid from the middle rather than the sides. For extra precaution, you could wear gloves to get the best grilling experience.

  • Doesn’t come with a cover: Crafted with stainless steel, the Weber Spirit II E-210 Black 2-Burner Liquid Propane Gas Grill is prone to rusting if kept without a cover. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a cover to prevent it from oxidizing.

Nevertheless, you could always purchase a cover and so this is not really a solid con for this grill. Our choice would be the iCover Small Grill cover, which is made out of waterproof materials to give your Weber Spirit II E-210 2-Burner the ultimate protection. Fold in the two side tables and tuck the grill away when not in use.

In case you do not want to store it by bending, the JIESUO BBQ Gas Grill Cover is the way to go. Produced with the finest materials, it is not only waterproof but also resistant to wear and tear!

Where to Buy Your New Weber Spirit II E-210 2-Burner Gas Grill

All in all, the Spirit II E-210 2-Burner Propane Gas Grill might come with a high price tag but is completely worth all your money. Its modifiable heat settings, sufficient amount of grilling and storage space, and easy-to-use features make it one of the best buy in the market.

Buying the Weber Spirit e210 Gas Grill: What You Need to Know

You might think you’re all familiar with the Weber Spirit II E-210 Gas Grill, but there are still some aspects that you need to know about. Let’s find out what they are, shall we?

Fun Size:

This Weber grill is only 32 x 50 x 63 inches, making it ideal for small households. All you have to do is fold the side tables, cover it up, and tuck it away. It doesn’t need an excessive cabinet space, unlike other large grills!

Move around with Ease:

The weight of 113.8 lbs can instill a fear that it is hard to move. Of course, if you try to pick it up, it will be difficult to shift. Nevertheless, for your ease, it has caster wheels that make it a breeze to move.

For people who suffer from back strains, this is a very convenient feature! You might think that the grill moves away because of the wheels, although, the lock on the wheels helps with that. After placing it in your desired area, turn on the locking system of the wheels to put the grill in place.

Backward Temperature Dial:

Here’s one thing no Weber Genesis II E-210 review talks about: the dial works in the opposite way. Meaning if you twist it anticlockwise, the flames will go down.

Ergo, be careful when you’re first igniting the grill because it’s starting at the highest temperature. To turn it down, rotate it counterclockwise and you’re ready!

Burning Hot!

Reaching up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, the Weber Spirit Grill is known to give you mouth-watering dishes every time! And no, we’re not talking about a combined temperature; one single burner can go up to 450 degrees if you keep the lid tightly sealed.

Other than that, the temperature knobs do not stop at only 90 degrees. You can rotate them to a full 180 degree plus, giving you more power over the heat!

Delicious Flavors!

The grates on the Weber Spirit II E-210 2-Burner might be made of cast-iron but are porcelain-enameled to help them retain the maximum heat inside the grill. These along with the porcelain lid, are a killer combo for grilling food up with utmost efficiency.

Coming to the flavors:

Along with the amazing heat-trapping grates, this one also has v-shaped flavored-bars. These cover the burners and work in getting the flavorful juices back to the food.

How?

They evaporate the extra drippings that fall off the grates and push them back. Call it science or a miracle, it sure does make your food delicious!

How to Use Weber Genesis II E-210 Grill

Like we said, this is super easy to use! One look at it and you will instantly know what to do. Even then, here are the steps to follow:

  1. Assemble the grill according to the instruction manual.
  2. Place the food items on top of the grates.
  3. Cover the lid and ensure that it’s sealed on properly.
  4. Turn the temperature knob to your desired heat.
  5. Press down on the igniter button.
  6. To turn the second burner, simply turn the dial assigned to it without pressing the ignition system.
  7. Your grill is ready!

Maintaining & Cleaning Tips For a Spirit II E-210 2-burner Propane Gas Grill

Gas grills are super exciting to use! You got no hassle of charcoal, or lighting them up manually! Amongst all of this, we often forget to maintain it properly to make it more durable.

Maintenance Tips For a Long Lasting Grilling Experience:

Follow the steps below for a grill worth your money!

Check for Leakage:

Gas has a way of finding its way out of the pipes, leading to accidents you do not want in your backyard. To ensure that does not happen, you need to often check your gas line for signs of leakage.

How?

  1. Make a solution of water and liquid detergent.
  2. Pour in a spray bottle.
  3. Spray a little bit of it on the valve that holds the connection to the gas tank.
  4. Slowly turn up the gas.
  5. If there are bubbles forming, it is likely there is a gas leak.
  6. If not, you are good to go for another round!

Pro tip: In case you do not have a spray bottle, use a brush to slather the solution on the valve.

Hide it Up:

Our Weber Spirit E-210 review has been gushing over how strong this propane grill is. However, no matter how strong, stainless steel has its own way of oxidizing, if it is not covered up.

For that very reason, we would recommend getting a cover for your Weber Spirit Propane e210 Grill and hiding it in there when not in use. It is best to keep it indoors, but if you are keeping it outside, make sure that it is under a shade.

Clean When Not in Use:

Most of us tend to think that we do not need to clean our grills when they are not in use. Time to change that thought process!

Grills need continuous maintenance, and even more when they are not in use. You have to clean the Weber Spirit Grill every once in a while when it’s tucked away. While cleaning, always check for gas leakage as well!

Cleaning Tips for a Healthy Grill

Now that you have the maintenance in place, let’s talk about how to clean this baby up!

Swipe at the Bod:

The first step is to get done with the easy steps. So, we will start will the exterior of the Weber Spirit II Genesis 2-Burner grill.

Being a stainless steel grill, it can be easy to chip off the paint while cleaning. Ergo, you have to be extra careful and get on with it slowly, instead of rushing to it!

Get a stainless steel grill cleaner and a microfiber towel to wipe away any dirt and grime from the grill. You could use a normal towel or rag, but if you are not careful enough, you might leave behind scratches.

For us, the Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish is one of the best cleaners out there. It not only clears the exterior of any sort of smut, but it also polishes along the way. With this, you get the streak-free shiny looking grill that will feel as good as new every day!

Clean the Cook Box:

You might be wondering why you would go through the hassle of doing this. The only solid reason we got for you is that: this will affect the way your grill performs! Of course, you think it’s a very troublesome task, although, in reality, it is not.

Start by removing the cast-iron Weber grill grates and the heat tents on the burners. Next, take a brush and scrub off the grease from the cook box. If you keep the bottom tray on while doing this, the grime would accumulate in there, making it easy to discard later.

That is it! You have a productive firebox now!

No More Grime on the Grates:

If you are already tired of the cleaning, you might wanna sit down because this is the hardest bit…

Is something we would say in the past.

Now, all you have to do is burn off the residue on the grill. After you are done grilling, crank it up once more to the highest temperature and let all those food bits burn!

Once that is done, you will notice that you are not left with much to work on. Later, just scrape off the remaining bits, and you are done!

Do not Forget the Side Tables:

Grab your microfiber towel, and the same solution you used for the rest of the grill and get started. Next, wipe off all the smudges from them. Well, that is about it really.

Got Questions?

We have gathered some of the frequently asked questions about this grill from different Weber Spirit grills review and answered them for you. Find out if these answer your queries.

Does The Weber Spirit E-210 Come With A Warranty?

It comes with a warranty of a full 10 years on the cook box, lid, and ignition system. For the cast-iron grates with porcelain coating, you get a warranty of 5 years.
It does not end there!

There is also a 2-year warranty for all the remaining parts and paint.

However, keep in mind that, you do not have the right to claim for warranty if you modify any parts on it. Moreover, in case of accidents or fire hazards, there is no backup for the grill.

What Is The Highest Temperature I Can Get From The Weber Spirit Genesis II?

Conventionally, Weber says that the grill heats up to 500 degrees at one go. We found out that it reaches to around 450 degrees in 8 minutes or so.

If you keep it longer, the temperature cranks up to more than 600 plus degrees. This makes it perfect to get that sear on the meat and burgers!

Do I Need To Remove The Gas Tank When Moving It?

Not at all! The propane tank sits safely inside the cabinet on the grill, keeping itself out of your way. Use the wheels on it to drag it around without having to deal with the tank.

Bottom Line

The Weber Spirit II E210 is a fantastic grill with state-of-the-art features, that has made its name with its capabilities. Its compact size, medium grilling space, and ability to give out delicious meals, is what makes it special.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly grill within a small size, then there can be no other better option than a grill by Weber!

[amazon box=”B01GFX00N2″]

As per the company website, the features of this grill are as follows:

  • Assembled dimensions of 56.9-inch length X 32.3-inch width X 52.2-inch height
  • Weight: 150.6 lb.
  • 849 square inches of grilling surface with space to accommodate roughly 33 burgers
  • The dial-in digital control panel with a bright LED display helps food reach a temperature between 180°F to 500°F (82-260°C) for both slow cooking and fast cooking at a high temperature
  • The hopper capacity of 21 lb. can hold enough pellets to allow coking very slow dishes at a very low temperature
  • The flame broiler lever helps to achieve the perfect searing with a direct flame that reaches a temperature of 1000°F (538°C)
  • 2 porcelain-coated cast iron cooking grates
  • 2 meat probes for better temperature control and to monitor meat doneness
  • The 2-in-1 stainless steel side shelf has built-in tool hooks and offers more prep space
  • A folding front shelf for additional space
  • A removable serving tray
  • A steel bucket to quickly clean the grease
  • An adjustable smoke stack for having more control over the smokey flavor
  • Fan-forced convection cooking and steady indirect flame for uniform cooking
  • 5-year limited warranty

Let’s look at how these features work in more detail to get a better understanding of how the Pit Boss 820 D3 works, its pros, and its downsides if any.

The Grill Space

The Pit Boss 820 D3 is one of the best pellet grills that has a total cooking area of around 850 square inches, of which 593 square inches are located on the main grate level. If you remove the upper rack, there are 8½ inches of vertical clearance, which is more than enough space for whole chicken and turkey.

Hopper Capacity

The huge hopper capacity of this Pit Boss pellet grill is great, and I also appreciate that it has a hopper viewing window so I can see the level of the pellets without having to open the hopper lid.

Temperature Range

It can reach temperatures of 180°F to 500°F (82-260°C), and the primary dial on the controller lets you choose between smoke, 180, 200, 225, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, and high, 500°F.

Assembling Time

The instructions manual is pretty clear and the total assembling time was 1½ hours – from unboxing to getting it all set to ignite. A single person can easily assemble this unit but it’s good to have an extra pair of hands to help when you want to turn over the machine to attach the legs. At a heavy weight of 150+ lb, turning it over and keeping it steady while putting the legs on is no joke.

Construction Design And Quality

Made from 16-gauge steel, the Pit Boss 820 wood pellet grill is made to last for years. The shelf and the heavy-duty undercarriage also add to the stability and long shelf life of this grill. The 2.7-millimeter-thick door and the 2.16-millimeter-thick grill body are testaments to the fact that it’s the heaviest metal body that you can get on a grill within the same price range. The porcelain-coated cast iron grill gates are heavy but easy to clean. The width of the grates makes it easy to get sears on your meat.

The Pit Boss 820 wood pellet grill has two wheels and two stationary legs, making it exceptionally durable and ensuring that it won’t move even in the worst gusts. The Pit Boss wood pellet barbecue is the only grill I’m aware of that will remain in place like this one, even if the trade-off is that you have to hoist a fairly hefty grill to move it across the patio on just two wheels.

It’s not really the goal of pellet grills to trap all of the smoke within when cooking. There is an open smoke stack where smoke can freely exit. You can see some smoke at the initial stage but all in all, it’s quite airtight. And if you’re not satisfied, you can always put some gaskets to stop any smoke from coming out when starting the Pit Boss 820D3 wood pellet grill.

Digital Control Panel

This device’s controller lacks Bluetooth and WiFi, and it is not a PID controller. However, a digital control board that is not PID and has more erratic temps has a certain quality that creates delicious barbecue. It can produce the best bark and color on meat when a low and slow cook is used.

You can easily control the heat and smoke with the P setting. In essence, this lengthens the duration between pellet cycles on the grill, giving you more control over how much smoke or steady heat the grill will produce when the controller is set to “Smoke.”

One meat probe is included with the Pit Boss 820 wood pellet grill to check the doneness of the meat. The controller has two probe connectors, so if you buy a second meat probe, you can simultaneously monitor two different proteins.

Cooking On The Pit Boss 820D3 Wood Pellet Grill

To cook hot and fast on this baby, just set the controller to high at 350°F (roughly 180°C) for 90 minutes. I tried to roast a whole chicken without the backbone and it came out perfect – with a nice crisp skin and a juicy inside.

So, for a family dinner, I tried to slow slow-cook butt with basic salt and pepper seasoning. I put the timer at 5½ hours and took care not to open the lid for the first 3 hours. After that, I just sprayed some water on the pork shoulder every hour. It came out with a beautiful amber garnet color and impressed my whole family.

Depending on where the heat diverter is placed, it includes a unique Flame Broiler Lever that enables you to achieve instant direct or indirect heat. I wanted to find out how this grill would fare if I placed aluminum raised grill grates as well as if I placed the burgers directly over the open flame. To my surprise, both cooling systems produced nice sears and grill marks.

Pros:

  • Heats up quickly in just under 8 minutes from a cold grill to 250°F (121°C) on a Smoke setting
  • Sturdy built that’s durable
  • Does both slow and fast cooking with equal efficiency
  • P setting for more smoke control
  • Comes with a meat probe and has space for inserting two meat probes simultaneously
  • Easy-to-clean cast-iron cooking grates with a porcelain coating
  • Both indirect and direct heat settings

Cons:

  • Difficult to move around due to heavyweight
  • Preset temperature may not be suitable for everyone

Snippet of the Rec Tec Grill: The Bull in the Business

[amazon box=”B07BKMSJ6X”]

The RT-700 is a grill that was made keeping the modern world in mind. With the ability to be controlled via Wi-Fi, and giving you the freedom to not only grill but smoke, sear, broil, roast, bake, and dehydrate, it’s one of the most loved grills out there!

It’s been called “the Bull” because of the horns in front, but I have found its performance worthy of being compared to a bull as well. It’s that powerful!

Product Features:

  • 1054 square inches of cooking area including the secondary space.
  • 40 lb hopper that gives this grill the capability of cooking for 40 hours at one go.
  • 2 meat probes facilitating temperature control.
  • Rec-Tec grill app that lets you control the grill from anywhere where there’s wifi.
  • Two mesh grill mats.
  • 200 lb pellets from Rec Tec.

Quality of Material:

Crafted by the very best out there, this RT 700 has been made with the finest materials. It doesn’t only look study, it actually lives up to that expectation! Rest assured, it’ll last with you longer than any other competitor grills in the market.

Ease of Use:

Use it in your bed or in your office, because this one will let you control it from anywhere! All you need to do is download the REC TEC GRILLS app and get started. Additionally, cleaning and starting this baby up manually isn’t much of a pain either.

Flavor:

With the adjustable temperature settings and fine mesh cooking mats, you couldn’t go wrong with the flavor in your meat and veggies. The Rec Tec grill grates ensure that it retains most of the juices for the food, giving you a 10/10 dish!

Value for Money:

The Rec Tec grill price might seem like it’s a lot to pay for a grill, although once you start using it, you’ll not regret one bit! With the ultimate duo of easiness and versatility, it’s worth every penny you spend on it, if not more.

To Sum It Up

If I had to put this grill in three words: the perfect choice! Let’s check out its pros and cons, shall we?

Impressive Points:

  • Large capacity: The 702 square inches of cooking area along with the secondary grill rack, gives you all the space you need for your huge group of friends.
  • Versatile: Whether you want that perfect sear on your meat or some baked veggies for the mashed potatoes, RT-700 got you covered.
  • Variable temperature: Rec Tec runs anywhere between the heat of 200-500 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Wi-Fi Enabled: Download the Rec Tec Grill app on your phone and turn the grill on/off from anywhere. Get your grill geared up right before getting out of the office to come back some delicious seared food!
  • Easy cleanup: This grill doesn’t come with the hassle of charcoal, meaning there are no ashes scattered around and no tiresome cleanups. Besides, the stainless steel material on the grates just makes it 10 times easier to wipe away any grime!
  • Durable: One look at this beauty will tell you how sturdy it is. You can sit back and relax because you just got yourself a worthy investment!

Improvement Points:

  • Wobbly legs: The robust build of the grill disappointed when it came to its legs. When you’re giving the grill a thorough tough cleaning, it tends to jiggle a little.

Nevertheless, the wobbly legs aren’t an issue when it comes to grilling, so this isn’t a big con on its part. All you need to do is be careful that you don’t tilt it over while cleaning and you’re good to go!

  • The temperature fluctuates: I noticed that when you experiment with the probes from the different sides, the temperature inside tends to alternate a little. The mood swings of the temperature mostly occur when you’re grilling between 200 to 225 degrees and it didn’t hamper the food all that much. If you’re cooking at a heat over 300, it doesn’t fluctuate at all!

Albeit, I figured as the time went by the grill might have settled to a more stable temperature than it did initially.

Well, no solid flaws for this one then…

Where to Buy a Rec Tec Grill?

Overall, I’d definitely recommend this for not only expert users but first-time users as well. Anyone who doesn’t have any previous experience of grilling can become a pro because of its user-friendly features.

We don’t know what you’re waiting for but get your RT 700 Wi-Fi enabled Grill before it runs out of stock! The Rec Tec grill for sale is eager to be welcomed in your home.

Rec Tec Grill Review: My Take on It

[amazon box=”B07BKMSJ6X”]

For someone who loves grilling and hates the scorching heat, the RT-700 has been perfect! Apart from the small benefits it has in general, here a few ways it made its way to the top of my favorites list.

Automated Features Allow You to Leave It on Its Own:

If we were to categorize human beings, I’d put myself in the lazy but busy section. Ergo, this Rec Tec Grill Pellet grill was a must-have for me because of all its fantastic automated features! For starters, let’s talk about the Wi-Pellet Wi-Fi enabled mechanism.

All I had to do was download the Rec Tec Grill app on my phone to get started with grilling in the comfort of AC. It’s available on both Android and iOS and is super easy to get used to!

What I do is place the raw steak on the grill before leaving and turn it on right before I get off work. And when I get back home…

Tada! My mouth-watering well-done steak is all ready to get gobbled up!

Another thing I really admire is the automatic pellet feeder. You place your pellet on the feeder and it finds its way to the firebox to gear up to your set temperature!

Also, you never have to worry about running out of smoke, thanks to the hopper that accommodates around 40 pounds of pellets. Therefore, even if you want an entire day of grilling, the Rec Tec Pellet Grill got your back!

Temperature That Suits Your Needs:

Unlike most grills, hitting the accurate temperature is no biggie with this RT-700 Pellet Grill. The thermostat comes with arrows that let you increase or decrease the heat inside, eliminating the hassle of vents and smokestack! Switch anywhere between 200 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and let the grill bake, smoke, or sear the ingredients inside.

You’re not gonna be simply guessing what temperature it’s at. The LED display on the stat shows you the exact weather inside the cabin, different from those dials that are hard to read.

Cleanup is a Breeze:

I’ve already talked about the stainless steel grates that make cleanup as easy as ABC. Here are some quick tips on how to clean them.

  1. Clean the grill while it’s hot. In case it has already cooled down, preheat it.
  2. Scrub with a brush to get rid of all the residue on the grates.
  3. For stubborn grime, use the scraper on a grill brush.

Note: If you don’t wanna do any of that, just pop them in the dishwasher!

Once you’re done with the grates, move on to the grease bucket. This one’s not much of a troublemaker either. The excess juice conveniently finds its way to the stainless bucket and all you need to do is empty it out to rinse with hot soapy water.

Rec Tec Grill Recipes:

Honestly, I’m not much of a pro “griller”. That’s one skill I’m yet to develop but this grill made me an expert without even trying!

Here’s a list of all the delicious food I made, thanks to idiotproof features of Rec Tec:

  • Brisket
  • Steak
  • Beef Wellington
  • Cajun turkey
  • Grilled shrimp
  • Grilled vegetables
  • Smoked salmon
  • Corn

This grill gives you the perfect opportunity to bring out the inner chef in you, making every single bite better than the last!

All the Extra Convenience:

While all those were great to have, this Pellet Grill had more to offer!

Auto Cool Down Mode:

This feature is great for when you want your grill to cool down before taking out the food. It also works best when you just wanna shove the grill away right after grilling!

Probe hole:

Known as someone who’s never careful around hot surfaces, this one was a savior! All I had to do was open the door to the hole and shove the probe inside without getting my hands burnt.

Heat vents:

You might be wondering “Does the heat damage any part of my grill?”

It would have if it wasn’t for the heat vents  that keep the sensitive parts safe! Consequently, my maintenance costs are also reduced to a great extent. Even the heat vents have rubber grommets to protect them. Talk about high security!

Cover:

Grilling is my favorite thing to do but doing it every week is definitely not my thing! To keep the grill safe and sound, while it’s not in use, it comes with a Rec Tec grill cover along with it. Place the veil over it and keep it secured from rusting away!

Six-year warranty:

The cherry on top of this amazing grill is the warranty of six years that comes with it! Not that we need it, given how durable this is, but it’s good to know Rec Tec stands behind its products.

Rec Tec 700 Wood Pellet Grill Not the One for You?

Just because I like this one so much doesn’t mean you have to! But don’t worry, there are some other amazing grills in the market that can suit your needs.

REC TEC RT-B380 Bullseye:

If big-sized grills aren’t your thing check out the RT-B380 by Rec Tec that comes with many of the features of RT-700 but in a smaller size! Coming with a wallet-friendly price tag, this baby gives you the superior combination of versatility, efficiency, and flavor all in one!

In fact, the only way it lags behind Rec Tec 700 is in terms of grilling area and Wi-Fi convenience. But hey, you asked for the small size!

Weber Original Kettle Premium Charcoal Grill:

Would you rather stick to the traditional way of grilling? Given the flavor those provide, I wouldn’t wanna argue!

For the best results, check out the Weber Premium charcoal Grill that isn’t only super cute to look at but also delivers exceptional performance.

With a 363 square inches of grilling area, it utilizes the power of a charcoal burner with the dampers to give your food a controlled amount of heat. You cannot sit back and relax with this like you can with the RT-700, although traditional grilling is not about relaxing! Nevertheless, the one feature that’s easy with this one is the one-touch cleaning system.

Rec Tec Wood Pellet Grill 700: Should You Get It?

A good looking grill that has an app to control its features, can do a number of activities along with grilling and is easy to clean up. That just about sums up the 3 wishes everyone wants from a grill and this one has all of it!

To top it all off, the bull horns on it act as a towel or tool carrier and it lasts with you for a long time. I mean, what else could you want?!

Or is there something more you’re looking for?

Restaurants use the commercial griddle which is a flat metal plate as they can easily multitask. Gas, electricity, wood or coal is used to heat up the restaurant flat top grill. Griddle is used for multiple cooking techniques at a time.

You can create various areas of temperature in your griddle to cook several dishes with different temperatures. The upright heating section located below the plate creates three different zones of temperature – namely very hot, reasonable hot and warm – on the same plate.

Furthermore, a griddle can also be used as a home flat top grill.

Flat Top Grill for Home Use:

If you love outdoor BBQs, store your home flat top grill in a place that doesn’t get damp to avoid rust. At the same time, the place should not be too hot as this may pose risk due to the use of a propane tank.

Besides, you should cover your flat top grill with a heavy-duty canvas wrapper to keep it in fine-working condition.

How to Clean a Flat Top Grill

Flat top grill cooks food evenly as it produces even heat. You can cook anything from eggs, pancakes, seafood and sauces to chicken breasts, BBQ ribs and steaks. The workhorse is put through cheese drippings, grease build-ups, charred pieces of foods and many more.

However, most importantly, you need to clean your flat top grill regularly as food sticks to it. Dirty grill cooks unevenly and transfers flavour between foods. Grease also builds up on the grill surface. If you know how to cook on a flat top grill, you should also know how to clean it.

Frankly speaking, cleanliness is essential whether you are running a kitchen professionally or cooking for your family at home. The food will not be considered edible if you cook in unhygienic conditions.

But not everyone abides by the rules of cleanliness as they should. Besides, there are various thoughts on how often a thorough cleaning and seasoning is performed. Some do this every day while others do this when needed.

Dirty kitchen is a violation of health codes and leads to illness. Besides, piled up junk is harder to clean. Moreover fragments of previous flavours spoil the new food.

Therefore, there are a number of methods you can apply to clean your flat top grill. The methods include the usage of anything from copper brushes to sponges, dishwashing detergent to baking soda and forceful scraping to gentle scrubbing!

Lemon Juice and Water Mixture:

Most people use soy sauce, salt, herbs, spices and a lot of oil for frying food. The oil becomes thick as time goes on, leading to grease build up.

Eventually, the food debris and grease layer becomes hard. Hence, follow some of our easy steps to clean grimy flat top grills with lemon juice! This’s one of the best ways to clean a flat top grill.

Step 1: Switch on the grill to heat it so that the hardened debris softens.

Step 2: Scrape the food debris and filtrate by using a grill scraper.

Step 3: Spray the lemon – water (one fourth – three fourth) mixture on the grill.

Step 4: Use a grill brush to spread the mixture and scrape the troublesome fat.

Step 5: Wait for five minutes so that the mixture seeps into the char and food debris.

Step 6: After five minutes of waiting, it becomes easier for you to remove the food debris and grease.

Step 7: Scrub the flat top grill in a circular movement with a scouring pad. Use a rag to wipe the grill surface.

Now, you know how to clean a flat top grill with lemon juice easily.

Vinegar and Water Mixture:

Cleaning the flat top grill with vinegar and water mixture will help you to get rid of troublesome fats that remain on the grill after use.

The process of cleaning a griddle with vinegar – water mixture is similar to that of lemon – water. Only the proportion of water is different – vinegar and water will be equal in amount.

Lemon and Soda Water:

You can also use lemon and soda water to polish this grill.

Step 1: Heat your grill to soften hardened food debris and extra fat.

Step 2: Scrape off all debrises with a heavy-duty scrubber.

Step 3: Spray lemon juice and soda water on the grill.

Step 4: Let the mixture soak for 5 minutes.

Step 5: Scrape the grill in a circular motion and wipe the debris to have a clean surface.

Step 1: Pour about one cup of oil onto the surface while the grill is still hot.

Step 2: Scrub the surface with a grill brick in concentric circles until it’s clean.

Step 6: Pour half cup of the vinegar – water on the grill surface and rub it with a clean rag until it’s clean.

Water and Steam:

You can also clean your grill even without any flat top grill cleaner!

Step 1: Switch on the grill heat and scrape away all dripping with a grill brush.

Step 2: After sprinkling water, use the brush to spread it on the hot grill to soften up the residue.

Step 3: After draining the previous water, add more water to the grill and repeat the process.

Step 4: Drain the liquid.

Onion Scrubbing:

You can easily clean a flat top grill without any grill brick. Onion works as the only flat top grill cleaner here! The method is not only effective for grills, but also for trays which are thicker. In this process, you just have to use an onion to scrub the surface while the grill is still hot and clean any dripping with a paper towel.

Soda Water and Carbonation:

Carbonation relaxes and eradicates hardened food debris and extra fat. So, pour some club soda on your flat top grill when it’s hot.

Scrub the exterior of your grill with a griddle brick in concentric circles. Remove the loosened dirt from your grill.

Beer Cleaner:

Who knew this was a thing! Just pour some beer on the warm grill and scrub it. Then drain the liquid off to get a shiny surface!

Coffee Soak:

You can also try coffee as a flat top cleaner to clean your kitchen grill. You need to bathe it with coffee to loosen up food debris, dirt and oil. Then simply scrap off the food debris with a wire brush and drain the fluid.

Hot Oil Cleaning:

Pour oil on the grill when it’s still hot. Scrub the cooking appliance with a griddle brick in a circular motion to mix it with food debris and extra fat. Later just wipe the loosened debris and get a clean flat top grill!

How You Can Clean a Blackstone Flat Top Grill

Let us explore some easy ways on how to clean a blackstone flat top grill.

Scrubbing the grates:

If the grates of your Blackstone flat top grill is highly messy with food debris, use a hard copper brush and scrub the grates until all the fat or juice is removed from the grates. Turn the grates over to be sure if you have gotten rid of them.

If there is any remaining grease left on the grates, then scrub them off. Besides, you can use soapy water to soften the fat first. You can also use vinegar solution to clean them.

Wash the burner protectors:

You know, burner protectors get dirty very quickly as they prevent the burners from getting clogged with dust, dirt or grease. After removing the protectors from your kitchen flat top grill, soak them in soapy water and scrub them with a sponge.

Clean the rust on the flat top grill:

Clean the rust by using your Blackstone cleaning kit which you have received with your grill. At first heat up the grill to loosen up the rust from the grill.

Before scrubbing the rust with a grill stone, drop a few drops of oil and liquid soap on the top. If you don’t have any grill stone, you can use sandpaper to remove all traces of rust from the top of the grill.

Clean the bottom side:

The bottom part is the most challenging part of the grill as all the grime ends up there. A sponge and soapy water will not be enough to get rid of the char and gunk off the plate. You need to scrape them off by using a grill brush.

Which Type of Fuel Works for You?

When you’re looking for a grilling machine, the first thing to consider is the type of fuel. Each grilling machine can vary vastly in its operations depending on how it’s fueled.

There are 3 different types of grilling machines available based on the type of fuel used.

  • Gas Grill
  • Electric Grill
  • Charcoal Grill

We’ll discuss them in detail below.

Weber Gas Grills Review:

Gas grills can be fueled using liquid propane or natural gas.

Weber Liquid Propane Grill Review:

Liquid propane burns cleanly i.e it leaves a small carbon footprint. And liquid propane can be bought in tanks.

If you keep the grilling machine inside your house, we recommend separately store the LP tank outside of the house.

But, if you keep the machine covered outside, you can keep the tank attached to it.

Weber Natural Gas Grill Review:

Natural gas is also a clean-burning fuel. While using a natural gas-fueled grill, you usually have to connect the main gas supply of the house to the grilling machine with a pipe.

Therefore, the machine usually has to be stored inside the house, limiting movement.

You can buy a separate elongated pipe and connect it with the main supply to increase the efficiency of the movement of the machine.

Both fuels burn cleanly, but natural gas leaves a lower carbon footprint than liquid propane. Thus, many outdoor grill enthusiasts prefer natural gas grills over propane for this difference.

Unless you’re too deep into the green-life, just know that using either works fine.

Additionally, gas grills are usually a top choice compared to other grills because they are easy to set fire to, easy to maintain the fire intensity, and are easy to clean.

Weber Electric Grills Review:

Electric grills don’t use fire. Many areas restrict the use of charcoal or gas grills due to the smoke they give off and in such situations, electric grills come to the rescue.

This is why it is the most efficient type of grill machine for grill enthusiasts living in apartments or condos.

Furthermore, electric grills are easy to use as they usually turn on with the flick of a switch. They are also very easy to clean.

Weber Charcoal Grills Review:

If you know anything about grilling, you know charcoals produce the best grills. Hands down.

The smoky flavor a charcoal grill gives off is unbeatable and the impression it leaves on your taste buds is everlasting.

However, as attractive as charcoal grills might seem, people opt for other grilling options due to the drawbacks of cleaning and maintenance. Also because the use of charcoal to ignite grills are prohibited in some places.

So, be sure to look up the fire regulation laws in your area before buying any such grills.

All that being said, if these restrictions don’t work for you and you’re all about flavors, a charcoal grill is the way to go!

Types of Weber Grills

Another important thing to consider before buying a Weber grill is the model of the Weber grill. Weber grills come in full sizes i.e large sizes, medium sizes, cart-wheeled and portable.

Large Sized Grills:

The large-sized grills are mostly gas grills that can cater to a large crowd. If you usually host a big number of people, it’s the perfect sized grill to get your party started!

Medium Sized Grills:

The medium-sized grills are available for different types of fuel and they occupy less space. They also have less area for cooking compared to a full-sized grill so they can cater to a relatively smaller crowd.

Cartwheeled Grills:

Cartwheeled grills are easy to move from one place to the other. You can store them indoors or in your garage and bring them out to your patio or poolside during get-togethers or bbq parties on weekends.

Cart wheeled grills are more compact. They come with the necessary features of a grill and can be taken on nearby camping trips but will take up some space in your car’s trunk.

Portable Grills:

Portable grills are, well, portable. They are smaller than all the types mentioned above and therefore, easy to carry. You can simply pop them in the trunk of your RV and get the camping going!

However, as they are small, they lack some qualities of a full-sized grilling machine, for example, they cannot cater to a large crowd. They are perfect for a small hangout on your patio or for picnics in the park.

Besides the type of weber grill, another factor to consider is the material with which the grilling machine is made of.

What are the Good Materials for Weber Grills and Grates?

Weber grills essentially come in two materials:

  • cast-aluminum
  • stainless steel

Both the materials last long without wearing out. Both are easy to clean and are resistant to scratches, corrosion, and heat. Therefore, both can withstand high grilling temperatures and won’t rust or peel easily.

As for the grates, they come in three different materials:

  • porcelain-enameled cast-iron
  • porcelain-enameled steel
  • stainless steel

The grates are made of these materials so they can retain high heat. These materials keep a consistent temperature throughout the grilling surface for a thorough, even cooking and searing of meat.

While stainless steel is more durable, its downside is that the ingredients are likely to stick to its surface, so you have to unstick them from time to time. This material of grate is also a little difficult to clean.

Comparatively, cast-iron or steel coated with porcelain enamel has a non-stick surface. It’s easier to clean as well.

Lastly, before we move on to our Weber bbq grills reviews, another important thing to consider is the heat rating of the grill.

How Do You Choose the BTU and the Number of Main Burners?

The BTU (British Thermal Unit) of a grilling machine determines the heat capacity of the machine. In simple words, high BTU means high heat capacity.

Other than its BTU, a machine’s heat capacity can be determined with the number of main burners. More number of burners means more cooking area and more quantity of food can be cooked.

If you’re a one-man army, one burner would suffice. Correspondingly, more mouths to feed will call for more burners.

Typically, to feed more than a group of 5, you need a minimum of 3 burners. The numbers increase proportionately.

Now that you have enough knowledge about grilling machines, you can easily navigate through our top 10 best weber grill reviews while fully being aware of the properties you need to look for to find your ultimate pick.

Let’s move forward!

In short, yes.

06. What Is The Difference Between Propane And Natural Gas Grills?

Propane gas has a higher BTU rating than natural gases such as methane. This difference in BTU rating means that propane will burn about three times hotter than natural gas. Therefore, natural gas provides a lower heat compared to LP.

However, grills set up to cook with natural gas usually uses special nozzles that allow a higher flow of gas. Additionally, our suggestion will be to buy a gas grill that functions on dual fuel.

06. Can I Use Propane On A Natural Gas Grill?

Unfortunately, you cannot use liquid propane on a natural gas grill. Liquid propane gas burns hotter than natural gas and therefore, the valves and orifice plates are designed for a lower gas flow for a natural gas grill.

07. How To Convert A Propane Grill To Natural Gas?

You can try using a conversion kit. This kit enables you to turn a propane gas grill into a natural gas grill. We would still suggest consulting with the grill manual to see if the grill is designed for dual fuel use.

Working at the iconic Boat Basin Cafe in Downtown New York, I perfected the art of enhancing sausage flavor through smoking on the banks of the Hudson. Here, I’ll share with you my best tips and secrets to help you master the craft of perfect smoked sausages.

Different Types of Sausages to Smoke

One of the first things to know when learning how to smoke sausages is your sausage variety. Not all sausages are created equal, and some lend themselves better to the smoking process. Let’s explore some sausage types that will provide a glorious feast every time.

The Kielbasa or Polish sausage is a versatile choice to smoke. Available in different variations; from a classic pork blend to turkey kielbasa, these sausages boast a rich and savory flavor that perfectly complements the smoky notes from the wood pellets.

Choosing the Right Smoker and Wood Pellets

When you’re stepping into the world of sausage smoking, you’ll quickly realize that smoking techniques and the equipment you use can make all the difference. Your smoker and wood pellets are two game-changers in your quest for perfection.

Smokers

Smoke Sausages Like a Pro: Ultimate Guide to Flavorful Results 14

Smokers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Here are the three most common types.

Electric Smokers: These are perfect for beginners. They are simple to use and maintain a consistent temperature, making them the perfect choice for those looking to get their feet wet in the world of sausage smoking.

Wood Pellet Smokers: These smokers use wood pellets for fuel and provide a more traditional smoky flavor. They’re great for those willing to spend more time and effort in pursuit of the perfect smoked sausages.

Charcoal Smokers: Charcoal smokers are beloved by BBQ aficionados for the intense, smoky flavor they provide. They require a little practice, but once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll be rewarded with sausages that are loaded with flavor.

Wood Pellets

If you’re serious about enhancing sausage flavor, then it’s vital to choose the best wood pellets for your smoking needs.

Fruitwood Pellets: Made from fruit trees like apple or cherry, these pellets offer a lighter, subtly sweet smoke. They’re great with any sausage but particularly complement milder sausages like bratwursts.

Mesquite Pellets: These pellets provide a strong, robust smoky flavor. They are excellent with strongly flavored sausages like chorizo.

Hickory Pellets: Hickory pellets are a good all-rounder, offering a strong flavor that’s not as intense as mesquite. Ideal for a range of sausages from kielbasa to Italian.

Sausage Smoking Tips

how to smoke sausages

So there you have it, my sausage smoking apprentices. You’re now equipped with the basics of choosing the right sausages, smoker, and wood pellets, along with some handy sausage smoking tips. Up next, in the second part of this guide, we’ll dive into a step-by-step process on how to smoke these beauties, serving suggestions, and some additional tips for make-ahead and storage.

  1. Choose Raw Sausages: Raw sausages absorb the smoky flavors better. Pre-cooked sausages can still be smoked, though the end result may not be as flavorful.
  2. Use a Thermometer: An instant-read thermometer is your best friend when smoking sausages. The ideal internal temperature for sausages is 160°F.
  3. Patience is Key: Low and slow is the mantra of successful sausage smoking. Patience ensures your sausages are perfectly cooked and infused with smoky flavor.

Step-by-Step Guide to Smoking Sausages:

Now that you’re familiar with the basics, let’s dive into the heart of the matter. Here’s a step-by-step guide to perfecting your sausage smoking techniques.

Preheating the Smoker:

Preheating is an essential step in any type of cooking, and smoking is no exception. Depending on your smoker type, this could take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. Aim for a temperature range of 225-250°F; a lower temperature will allow the sausages to smoke slowly, resulting in a better flavor.

Preparing the Sausages:

While the smoker is preheating, let’s move to the sausages. If you’re working with raw sausages, make sure they’re defrosted. Do not pierce the sausages; we want to keep all those delicious juices inside!

Smoking the Sausages:

Once the smoker has reached the desired temperature, place your sausages on the smoker grates, ensuring they’re not touching each other. Close the lid and let the smoker do its magic. You might want to rotate them midway for an even smoke.

Remember, how to smoke sausages is all about patience. Smoking could take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the size of your sausages and the smoker’s temperature.

Checking the Temperature:

Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature. The sausages are done when they reach 160°F.

Serving and Pairing Smoked Sausages:

Perfect smoked sausages are a delight on their own, but you can elevate your sausage experience with the right pairings.

Serving Options:

Traditionalists might prefer a classic sausage on a bun. Add some caramelized onions, a little mustard, and you have yourself a feast. For those who like a bit of a kick, try adding jalapenos, hot sauce, or even spicy relish.

Pairing Options:

Your smoked sausage can be the star of a larger meal. Pair it with sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or potato salad for a full barbecue spread. Grilled vegetables or a simple salad can provide a lighter option.

Make-Ahead, Storage, and Reheating Tips:

Yes, you can make your smoked sausages ahead of time! After smoking, allow them to cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They should keep for 3-4 days.

When it’s time to reheat, you have a couple of options. For a quick method, use a microwave—but for the best flavor, consider reheating them in a pan with a bit of oil or back in the smoker for a few minutes.

Creative Uses for Leftover Smoked Sausages:

Leftover sausages are a gift, not a problem! They can be used in a variety of dishes, from breakfast to dinner. Try them in an omelet or frittata, stirred into pasta, or even sliced and used as a pizza topping.

Congratulations, you have now mastered the art of smoking sausages! Remember, each smoking experience is an opportunity to learn and improve. Don’t be afraid to test out different sausages, experiment with wood pellet flavors, and most importantly, enjoy the process.

FAQs

How long does it take to smoke sausages?

In an oven, it can take from 15 to 45 minutes per pound to cook, while in a smoker, it can take up to 3 hours for you to cook.

How do you smoke raw sausages?

The best way to smoke raw sausages is by using a water pan inside the smoker or grill to keep the sausages moist. You can also wrap them in foil or bacon for extra flavor and moisture. Place them close to the coals for about an hour and turn them every 15 minutes until browned.

What temperature do you smoke sausages at?

You’ll want to cook your sausages at a low temperature, typically around 200F.
We recommend cooking your sausages in a smoker, instead of cooking them in an oven at home, because it can be difficult to regulate the cooking temperature with just an oven.

What is the best wood to smoke sausages with?

Different types of wood provide different flavors to your sausage. If you want a smoky flavor, then hickory or mesquite are both great choices. But if you want a sweeter taste or a fruity one, apple is the way to go.
