Breville Dual Boiler Descaling Made Easy Expert Guide Tips

Introduction to Descaling: The Why and How

Descaling your espresso machine, a procedure often overlooked, constitutes a critical element affecting the longevity and performance of your machine, and ultimately, your caffeine infusion. Especially in hard water areas, scaling can severely dama the performance of your Breville Dual Boiler due to limescale buildups.

The Critical Role of Descaling Your Espresso Machine

In areas with hard water supplies, the frequency of descaling ought to be high. The mineral-rich water tends to deposit scale inside the water pipes and heating components of your Dual Boiler. These deposits not only interrupt the efficiency of the machine but also shorten its lifespan. Moreover, this water forms the fundamental part of your coffee. Accumulating limescale has the potential to taint the purity and taste of your beloved espresso shots. Don’t let scale buildup hinder your pursuit of the perfect espresso shot, descale your Breville Dual Boiler regularly!

Noteworthy Focus for Breville Dual Boiler Users

The sophistication and precision embedded in the Breville Dual Boiler warrant some extra attention when maintaining it. Users often encounter difficulties in the Breville Dual Boiler descale troubleshooting, escalating their concerns. However, rest assured. While the descaling process might appear intricate initially, it becomes effortless once familiar.

Understanding Your Breville Dual Boiler and Its Water Requirements

Before diving into the descaling process, let’s grasp the internal logistics of your Breville Dual Boiler and how scaling potentially disturbs its operation.

The Ramifications of Water Hardness

Essentially, water hardness delineates the concentration of specific minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium, contained in the water. The higher their concentration, the ‘harder’ the water becomes. These minerals precipitate when this hard water is heated in your Breville Dual Boiler, forming scale deposits. Over time and without rigorous descaling, these deposits accumulate, leading to perceivable impacts on the machine’s performance and your perfectly brewed coffee.

Identifying Symptoms of Limescale Buildup

So, what’s the cue that your machine requires descaling? There are several indicators. If you observe your espresso brewing slower than usual or the machine taking more time to heat up, it’s high time for a Breville Dual Boiler descale. Other noticeable signs include a metallic taste in your coffee or avoiding brewing coffee altogether.

While recognizing these signs is essential, avoid reaching this stage at all. Establish a regular descaling schedule to maintain your espresso machine.

The Art of Descaling: Thorough Guide for the Breville Dual Boiler

Regardless of whether you’re new to the world of espresso or a seasoned veteran, correctly descaling your machine is an absolute necessity. Thankfully, we’ve compiled a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to assist you.

Step-By-Step Guide

Before starting, kindly ensure your Breville Dual Boiler is switched off and cooled down. Now, let the descaling commence!

  1. Make a Breville Dual Boiler descale solution by blending equal parts white vinegar and water. If you don’t have vinegar available or prefer another method, don’t fret! Citric acid is another common descaling agent, vital for users who prefer a citric-acid based Breville Dual Boiler descale.
  2. With the descale solution prepared, switch on your machine.
  3. Initiate the descale process on your machine.
  4. Allow the espresso machine to wholly cycle through the descaling process. This requires patience and is undoubtedly worth the wait, as it contributes immensely towards the long-term performance of your machine.
  5. Once the cycle concludes, clear out the descaling solution twice at least, to certify there are no remnants left. Next, refill the tank with clean water and rinse the machine thoroughly.
  6. To conclude the process, conduct a few more brewing cycles using clean water. By doing this, you’re ensuring any possible residues from the vinegar or citric acid are completely removed, making your machine ready to serve an invigorating brew!

Professional Products for Descaling: A Comparison

The above steps laid out for descaling your Breville Dual Boiler offer various solutions, including the use of white vinegar, citric acid, or specialized descaling products such as Urnex Dezcal Coffee and Espresso Descaler and Cleaner.

While vinegar and citric acid are easily accessible and affordable, they might leave an unpleasant smell or taste if not thoroughly cleansed. Conversely, professional descaling products like Dezcal offer a holistic cleansing process without residues.

Post-Descaling Maintenance

Tips for Espresso Machine Upkeep

Here are some noteworthy tips to uphold your machine’s performance post-descaling:

  1. Always ensure your machine is rinsed thoroughly after descaling, eliminating any chances of lingering tastes or smells.
  2. Utilize filtered or bottled water for brewing. In doing so, you could reduce the harsh effects of hard water that lead to scale buildup.
  3. Regularly clean machine components like the portafilter, brewing heads, and other easily removable parts.

By following these guidelines derived from industry best practices, you will prolong the life and quality of your espresso-making routine significantly.

The Necessity of Regular Descaling

Regularly descaling your espresso machine helps retain the quality of the espresso shots, allowing your machine to operate optimally and consequently extends the lifespan of your Breville Dual Boiler. Thus, maintaining consistency in your descaling routine is crucial.

Descaling Breville Espresso Machine:

If you want to keep your Breville espresso machine in its best condition, descaling is essential. You have to descale once a month to get a steady water flow and tasty coffee.

You might be wondering what descaling is and how it’s different from regular cleaning. Regular cleaning removes dirt and grimes whereas descaling removes buildups.

Whether you use tap water or filtered one, the water contains many minerals. Over time these minerals build up inside and create a thick, tough layer. Usually, it’s calcium and can be removed quite easily. Breville barista express manual is very helpful for this.

All you need is vinegar and water. Keep in mind that vinegar can cause a bad smell that tends to linger for a few days. You can buy descaling solutions that do the same job without any bad odor.

  1. Set your Breville Espresso machine to “stand by” mode. Then unplug the machine from its electrical outlet.
  2. The next thing you need to do is fill the water tank with water and your preferred descaling liquid. In our case- vinegar. Use a 50:50 ratio of water and vinegar if you have hard water.
  3. The next thing you have to do is place a container in the drip pan. This will catch any water and vinegar mix.
  4. Plug your Breville espresso machine and turn it on. When you see the orange temperature light glowing, it’s time to brew.
  5. Select the “Espresso” mode and let the machine run that vinegar-water mixture through its system.
  6. Position the steam over your container and press the “Steam” option. At this point, the solution will start coming out of the wand.
  7. As the liquid comes out, it will bring all the grimes and buildups with it.
  8. Repeat this process a few times if you are not satisfied yet. Then run three to six more cycles with clean water to remove the vinegary smell. And that’s how you descale Breville espresso machine.

Regular Cleaning:

Remove Filter:

We all forget to do this everyday but we need to remove the filter holder right after brewing. Empty the used coffee grounds in the trash and then clean it under running water. Use a scrubbing brush if necessary. This takes only 2 minute but keeps your machine pristine for years.

Brew Plain Water:

After you have put the empty filter in the machine, brew with pain water for ten to fifteen seconds. Then gently dispose of the hot water into the sink. This step helps to remove coffee residue from the brewer.

Wash Froth Enhancer:

One of the appeal of a home espresso machine like Braville is its froth enhancer. You need to clean it regularly too. Always pull out the froth enhancer right after using it to clean. Use warm water to rinse it.

Clean The Drip Tray:

Yes, you need to clean the drip tray regularly. Empathy it into the sink and give a gentle wash with warm water. If necessary, you can use dishwashing liquid too. Always let the tray dry completely before putting it back inside the Breville espresso machine.

Wipe the Exterior:

Use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe down the exterior. As you touch the espresso machine every day, dirt and bacteria sit on top of it. Each time you touch the machine, you get exposed to them. So wiping the machine every day keeps it clean and new.

😷 Safety Precautions

  • Unplug the machine from the power source before cleaning.
  • Wear protective gear such as gloves, eye protection, and a dust mask.
  • Avoid using any harsh chemicals such as bleach or ammonia.
  • Use mild detergent solutions instead.
  • Keep the machine away from water to avoid any water damage.
  • Dry the machine completely after cleaning.

How Do You Make Coffee in a Breville Espresso Machine?

We could write dozens of different recipes you can do with your Breville Espresso machine. But for now, let’s stick to the basics. Here’s how you make a striking, sharp espresso with Breville Barista Express:

01. Select Coffee Beans:

No matter how fancy and expensive your espresso machine is, without good coffee beans, the whole effort is basically a waste of time. Don’t use basic options. Instead, go for Robusta beans in a blonde roast. You can use Arabica beans in a darker roast for a smooth and nutty flavor.

There are honestly so many different coffee beans to choose from and each has its unique flavor profile. So pick something that you really love.

02. Choose Grind Size:

Whether you want a fine grind or a coarse one, you need to decide first. Finer grind provides a more intense flavor with higher caffeine content whereas coarse grind is smoother. Ideally, you need a very finely ground to make a great espresso. For a single shot of espresso, you need between 7-9 grams of coffee. Everything is about weight and timing in espresso making.

03. Bring out the Portafilter:

Fill the portafilter and level it gently with your hand. It should be evenly distributed. Then place it on a countertop and apply even pressure with your tamper. This is one of the most satisfying steps of espresso making.

04. Start the Brew:

Now it’s time to make the espresso. Run the machine without the portafilter to purge the group head. Then lock it in place and start the brew. You might not get it on the first try but the more you do, the better you get at it. The first shot usually looks light caramel brown. It should look viscous and voluminous. Taste it to see if it’s sour or not. If the shot tastes a bit sour, grind the beans for next time.

And that’s it! Your single-shot espresso is ready to enjoy!

Breville Espresso Machine Maintenance Tips

Some routine upkeep might prevent problems with your Breville espresso machine. Be cautious to descale the equipment on a regular basis to avoid mineral buildup. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe off the steam wand and other moving parts.

If you don’t use a filter on your Breville espresso machine, it will have heavy calcium and magnesium buildup from your water.

Most of our tap water is actually hard water with a high acidic level and is filled with many minerals. These miners can create a layer inside the machine causing it to get clogged.

Adding a filter slows down that process. With a filter, you will have to descale your Breville Barista Express once a month. But without it, you might have to do that 2-3 times a month. That’s just a lot of work for something that can be fixed easily.

[amazon box=”B00CH9QWOU”]

To flush your Breville espresso machine, all you have to do is press the 2 CUP button. This will run hot water through the group head for 30-35 seconds. Then activate the steam for 10 seconds.

Repeat this cycle a few more times until the water tank is totally empty. Your Breville machine will be properly flushed.

Breville BJE200XL Review

Breville Juice Fountain Compact sounds good so far, but what are its pros and cons? What does it offer better than other juicers, and what are its weak points?

Breville BJE200XL review advantages

Pros

  • Wide Feed Chute: An extra wide feed chute saves you from needing to prepare your favorite fruits and vegetables. To use Breville BJE200XL juice fountain, all you have to do is rinse you ingredients, place the whole fruits in the juicer, and turn it on.
  • Quick Juicing Time: You’ll be surprised at how quick it pulps up the raw goods. It usually doesn’t take longer than 1 to 2 minutes to give you some mouthwatering juice, especially if you’re juicing fruit at a high speed.
  • Built-in Froth Separator: Breville BJE200XL’s froth separator ensures you have plenty of juice and less of those bubbles in your finished product. That way, you can get the maximum nutrients and output from your fruits.
  • Powerful Motor: You can trust that this juicing machine won’t easily break down, too. It can last long and endure daily usage at maximum power, and it can cater to both beginner and veteran juicers alike.

  • Safe: Breville’s juicer fountain contains safe, food-grade materials to ensure healthy juice quality. Moreover, BJE200xl compact juice fountain doesn’t start until you properly fit the lid, too, so it guarantees there won’t be accidents or messes on your juicing session.

Breville BJE200XL review disadvantages

Cons

  • Only One Setting: Due to its simplistic design, BJE200XL only has an on and off switch. You can’t adjust its speed settings, so you’ll find yourself a little stumped when you juice leafy greens. Leafy greens require less power, but since there’s no option to slow down the shredder, this may be a problem for you. The again, if you’re patient enough, you can put the raw veggies in the juicer slowly instead of all at once to make it work.
  • Noisy: Plenty of Breville BJE200XL juice fountain users don’t complain about about its noise level, but some people can’t stand the noise it makes. If you’re someone who hates the sound of vacuum cleaners at low speed, this juicer won’t be your favorite thing to hear. However, we didn’t really think the sound was too loud compared to other centrifugal juicers out there.

Breville 700-Watt Juice Extractor: Is It Worth the Money?

Breviile BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain, a 700-watt juice extractor, comes with many features and benefits that give it an edge over others. Below we’ve given you a detailed insight into each of these.

Blending Power

This powerful juicer smoothly shreds fruits and vegetables like apples, peaches, tomatoes, beets, and others in no time. And on every juicing session, you’re guaranteed smooth juice – unless you try to juice a banana or some potatoes.

Remember, ingredients like bananas and potatoes have very little juice to begin with, so your juicer’s power wouldn’t even matter if you attempt to create juice with those ingredients. Also, never overdo the blending since that takes out the healthy deliciousness of the juice we look for!

Blending and Cleaning Time

As mentioned earlier, you can use fruits as is and place them in your juice fountain compact. You’ll have healthy juice in no time, and once you’re done, you can clean up the juice fountain in little time, too.

Again, Breviile BJE200XL only has only four parts, and they all pop apart. Every part is dishwasher-safe except for the mesh filter, so you can just take that out and pop the rest in the dishwasher. The mesh filter and juice chute jams up at times, but they’ve included a small brush to easily unclog that.

Breville Fountain Juice Extractor might look feeble, but it proves everyone wrong with its sturdy exterior. We saw it fall from the kitchen counter and stand up as strong as it was without a single scratch. There’s no hanky-panky with its pieces, too. They stick properly and don’t fall off easy.

However, if you still have doubts, you can rest assured that Breville offers a one-year warranty for its BJE200XL model. So, if anything goes wrong during that time, just contact Breville for support.

Juice Quality

Remember how we talked about how BJE200XL gives you a flawlessly smooth juice output? To add up to that, it also has a built-in froth separator that eliminates the foam some of the raw goods build up, so you’ll definitely have some quality juice when you’re done.

FAQs

Is juicing healthy?

Some people believe juicing will allow your body to absorb nutrients better, but some also believe the loss of fiber during juicing lessens its healthiness. No scientific evidence can fully answer this question at the moment, but know that juicing is almost the same as eating the fruits and vegetables themselves.

So, if you’re not a fan of juice and leafy greens, you should be alright with juicing to help you stay healthy. Moreover, juicing serves as a convenient and quick method of taking in those fruits and veggies.

Is it better to juice or to blend?

Juicing separates a fruit or vegetable’s liquid from its pulp, while blending mixes all the parts together to form a smoothie. If you want a nutrient-dense, low-fiber beverage, it’s better to juice. However, if you want everything from the fruit or veggie, it’s better to blend.

What are centrifugal juicers?

Centrifugal juicers come with fast-spinning metal blades that work against a mesh filter to separate juice from a fruit or vegetable’s flesh. It’s the most popular option for both beginners and veterans since it’s quick, convenient, and affordable.

Are masticating juicers really better?

Masticating juicers may or may not be better for your juicing needs. Masticating or cold-press juicers slowly crush fruits and veggies, and then squeeze the output against a strainer to separate the juice from its pulp.

If you’re impatient, you won’t like this type of juicer. Then again, it does produce as much juice as it can through that process. So, if you’re alright with taking longer when juicing, you may like masticating juicers.

What is the best juicer to buy?

The best juicer that you need to buy depends on how you want to use it. For example, if you want things quick and can’t be bothered to thoroughly clean your machine, then centrifugal juicers suit you.

On the other hand, if you want a juicer that thoroughly extract the juice from your materials, you’ll need to buy masticating or triturating juicers. A triturating juicer is essentially a masticating juicer with two gears.

Where can you buy Breville BJE200XL parts?

You can buy Breviile BJE200XL parts through Breville itself or on Amazon.

How to clean a Breville juicer?

It’s easy to clean a Breville juicer. For BJE200XL, simply separate the four parts and place everything except the mesh filter in the dishwasher.

Bottom Line

Breville Compact Juice Extractor claims to be the ideal machine for first-timers, and it delivers that promise. This small and friendly machine is a crowd-pleaser because of its low price, compact size, and simple features. So, if you’re thinking about getting started on juicing, you can buy Breville BJE200XL here.

The Breville 800jexl Review – Is This the Best Juicer?

It goes without saying that the health benefits of fresh and unoxidized juice are incomparable. My most recent expedition on a juice fast has helped me lose weight, gain energy, and overall feel more wholesome.

And now that I juice every single day, I’ve realized that it’s wise to spend a little extra money and get a high-quality juicer that’ll last long instead of investing in a cheap piece of junk.

I mean, if you’re going to buy a juicer, spend money on fresh ingredients, and take the time to juice them, you might as well do yourself a favor and get the best possible juicer you can find. One that will last for years.

And with that thought in mind, I love using the Breville 800jexl juice fountain elite. It is by far the best juicer I have ever had!

Without further ado, read our Breville 800jexl review to find out why.

The Breville 800jexl Juice Fountain Elite

[amazon box=”B0002VAFVG”]

The Breville 800jexl Juice Fountain Elite is a juicer from Breville. It is a centrifugal juicer meaning it juices fresh greens using centrifugal force.

Compared to their masticating counterparts that juice by crushing the fresh product, centrifugal juices by cutting them and forcing them through a strainer.

The Breville centrifugal juicer 800jexl looks and sounds like it means business. It gives a commercial-grade performance and, at the same time, a home kitchen convenience. Its ‘Elite’ status really is well earned.

Overall, this model is built to last. It has many features that will strike you right off on its first performance and first glance.

The Unique Breville 800jexl Juicer Extraction System:

With its ultra-sharp cutting disks and a micro-mesh filter, this juicer promises to extract up to 30% more juice and 40% more vitamins and minerals.

And oh boy, does it deliver. The juice yield of this unit is crazy! You will definitely see a significant rise in the amount of juice you get from this juicer compared to your previous one, given that you’ve had any.

Extracting juice using this juicer leaves the pulp feeling dry which ensures that this unit produces maximum yield.

Additionally, this model has such a fine screen that your healthy refreshment comes out clear, smooth, delicious, and beautifully colored.

The Powerful Breville 800jexl Juice Fountain Elite 1000 Watt Juice Extractor:

This unit has such high power that it puts itself in the professional league. The Breville 800jexl has a power of 1000 watt. This 1000 W motor juices with high vigor to make sure your juice contains all the necessary nutrients and is all nice and smooth.

And with this high power, I’ve been able to juice a whole apple and even 1 lb of carrots in a record time of below 15 seconds. This powerful performance also comes down to the speed of the motor.

The 2 Speed Controls Of the Juicer:

Juicing using this unit couldn’t be easier. After all, all you have to do is choose between 2 buttons. And which one to choose?

Well, as mentioned above, you get two simple options-

  1. The low speed
  2. The high speed

I absolutely love the two speeds. I have found that the high-speed option works better for denser and harder fruits and veggies like apples, carrots, and gingers. And the low speed works well for softer ingredients like berries, grapes, peaches, tomatoes, and other peeled citruses.

The Large Juice Jug and Pulp Container Capacity:

This juicer has a very large juice container and a pulp container capacity of as follows-

  1. Juice jug capacity – 1.1 quarts
  2. Pulp container capacity – 3.2 quarts

What I love the most about such large capacities is I get to juice a lot at one go. Without having to keep on changing containers or taking breaks.

The Warranty Of Breville 800jexl – 1 year:

Is the Warranty a Potential Drawback? See, a lot of people get surprised at the warranty for this product. And it’s reasonable as this product only has a warranty of 1 year.

Such a low warranty makes people wonder if it’s really worth all the money.

But let me tell you, this little baby is highly durable. On reading online reviews, you’ll see many reviewers happily exclaim that they’ve had this machine for years, using it more frequently than not, and this thing still juices like a brand new unit.

So, is the warranty a drawback or not? While we certainly believe this model will last for years, I’ll leave that up to your interpretation.

Weight Of Breville 800jexl Fountain Elite – 17.2 pounds:

This juicer is somewhat heavy. Which makes it not as portable as you may like it to be. However, I think this juicer has just the right weight. Such weight makes sure there is no way for this juicer to slip during use.

Points to Love About the Breville 800jexl Juicer Juice Fountain Elite

Apart from the juicer’s special features and sound structure, this little beast has many points that I love about using it.

The Juicer Is Very Well Made:

This juicer is one of the most well designed and sturdy juicers you’ll find in the market. The craftsmanship on this thing is so good that it just looks like it’s going to last for years.

At first glance, you can see that a lot of thought and care are put into making the built-in conveniences of this juicer. Even the power plug of this juicer has a hole in it so you can pull it out easily with a finger.

Parts of the juicer that get heavy exposure to juice are brushed steel, so they don’t stain. Even the juice container has a separate fill port that fits the spout like a glove. And the pour spout also has a special anti-foam ledge.

The body of this juicer doesn’t have any tough corners where residue pulp can hide. And even if they do, the plastic parts are clear and see-through so you can see where the bits of pulp are hiding, ensuring hassle-free cleanup.

Additionally, the jug is very clear. With graduation marks every 2 ounces, you know just how much juice you’ve made.

It’s safe to say, the design of the Breville 800jexl juice fountain really is ingenious!

Moreover, the Breville 800jexl parts are very high-quality. They include a cast steel housing, stainless steel micro mesh filter, and titanium-plated cutting disk.

Albeit there was a bit more plastic and less stainless steel than anticipated, the main housing is in stainless steel and that’s what counts.

This Juicer is Very Easy to Assemble:

The instructions on the manual for assembling and using this product are very clear. Hence, it was really easy to assemble and was ready to be used right out of the box.

I assembled the juicer and whipped up a concoction right after without breaking a sweat!

The Juicer is Very Easy to Use:

The juicer is designed just right. It’s minimalistic and you’ll love its simplicity. The tips on how to use the machine are all in the booklet. And having to choose between 2 different speed options only makes the juicer very easy to use.

The overall professional-quality construction of the juicer doesn’t add any difficulty to its operation. I love the off button and the quart juice pitcher which makes the juicer all the more convenient.

The High Blending Power and Efficiency Of the Juicer:

The end product of this juicer tastes amazing! You’d think that this juicer must take its mighty time to extract such good juice, but no. This juicer juices like a beast! It makes amazing juice and it makes it fast.

Even if you check the pulp, you’ll see that they are fairly dry to the touch meaning efficiency of juicing. All in all, this juicer is easy, speedy, and loaded with power!

With such high power, this juicer can demolish and give a high yield of juice from an entire apple, numerous carrots, and other such ingredients in a matter of seconds. You’ll be left thoroughly impressed with the power and efficiency of this unit.

And surprisingly, such high power doesn’t heat the juice up at all. You get all of the nutritional benefits of cold extraction from this juicer.

As a side effect of such high power, you’d expect the juice to be loud. But the motor is not exceedingly loud, not as loud as you think, considering what it gets done in such a short amount of time.

In the low-speed setting, this juicer is fairly quiet. It’s not whisper-quiet but it won’t wake up anyone sleeping in the next room. And in the high-speed setting, the juicer is a little noisy. But hey, which juicer isn’t? No surprise there.

The Juicer is Very Easy to Clean:

The ease of cleaning is a major satisfaction as I use this juicer every day. If you don’t think this matters much, you’ve definitely never owned a juicer before.

All the parts of this juicer come apart logically and it has many dishwasher safe pieces such as the juicer cover, stainless steel filter bowl, puree disc, and juice jug. These are all safe to go into your dishwasher.

The plastic parts can melt near the dishwasher heat coils, so it’s wise to not just dump the entire thing in the dishwasher.

You also get a brush included with this juicer for cleaning anyway. The filter becomes very easy to clean with the provided scrub brush.

The stainless steel body parts also rinse off nicely and it only takes a few seconds in the sink with the spray nozzle. So, it takes very little time for cleanup.

And, if you immediately rinse the components of the juicer in hot water after every juicing session and wash them in soapy water after the last use of the day, the juicer retains its shine for a long time.

To cut out one more thing to wash, there’s actually a cheat tipped off in the instruction manual. All you have to do is line the pulp container with a plastic bag and after juicing is done, just pull out the bag and all the pulp will be in there!

The pulp basket is actually designed to hold the bag that you use to hold your fruits and veggies at the grocery store. So, don’t bother to buy extra waste bags, just line the waste container with the thin produce bags you used at the store.

I love this tip in particular as it makes cleanup so much easier.

Additionally, you don’t have to clean up the juicer that often as you can go for about 2 quarts of juice before you need to empty the extractor bucket and rinse the blades and filter. And the cleanup only takes about 2 to 3 minutes and then you’re back to juicing again!

Believe me when I say, the clean up is very very easy with this machine.

Bonus Points – The Visual Serve:

The first thing that’ll strike you about this juicer is its looks. This juicer is surely a visually impressive product!

Overall, the juicer is sleek, sturdy, has a stainless steel body, and stands out in any countertop. It really is functionally attractive and not an eyesore at all.

Weak Points Of the Breville 800jexl Juicer Juice Fountain Elite

Along with praises comes criticism. After all, nothing is built to be perfect. Let’s look into what this picture-perfect juicer raises concerns about.

Bulky Juicer Takes Up Space:

Admittedly, this juicer does take up a fair share of counter space and you will need lots of overhead clearance to move the food plunger in and out of the chute.

But it’s space I’m willing to give up.

Not the Best Juicer for Leafy Products:

Softer items like leafy greens are a bit of a challenge for this juicer. Leafy greens like kale and spinach give a subpar juice yield.

If you juice leafy greens only, this juicer might not be the one for you. As what happens is, the leafy greens flatten out like wallpaper in the container. So, they don’t blend fully to give a good yield.

As for me, I don’t juice leafy greens only. I usually pair them with harder objects so I tightly roll up the leaves and firmly place them between harder items and get amazing juice yield.

The Price Of the Juicer:

This juicer is not very cheap, but not too expensive as well. Agreeably, this juicer might cost twice as much from an ordinary juicer, but it’s also faster and easier to clean.

So, rather than slapping the ‘expensive’ tag to its name, I’d say this juicer is well worth the price.

Potential Drawback – Leakage?

See, one thing I occasionally came across in the customer reviews is the complaints of their juicer having minor leakage. But, I honestly have never experienced any leaks or clogs in my juicer.

I was a bit worried about this since prior to buying the juicer as many reviews specifically noted this issue, but perhaps it was an unfortunate defect piece?

Although my countertop is always clean beneath the machine after every juicing session, it’s still a matter you can keep in mind.

Loudness:

Nobody really had a problem with the loudness of the juicer. But if you do have a problem with noisy juicers, go for a slow masticating juicer. They are usually pretty quiet. Definitely quieter than their centrifugal correlatives.
